The medical use of the cannabis sativa plant is becoming more common throughout the world, especially as nearly every state in the United States has accepted it in to legality. However, the recreational use of marijuana is still lagging behind, although there are proven benefits that many people would be able to take advantage of.
Yoga and Cannabis
Believe it or not, yoga and cannabis have a long history of working synergistically. There are many benefits that you could derive from practicing yoga while also using cannabis, although the legality of the issue does not make this always possible.
Even the Vedas (Hindu texts), have records of ancient yogis revering and combining their practice with cannabis.
Although it may not be legally possible for you to use marijuana with your practice.
However, there are options that you can still take advantage of.

If you are not a medical marijuana patient, and you do not live in a state or country where the recreational use of marijuana is legal, CBD Oil or CBD extracts are an excellent option for combining with your yoga classes.

CBD, Yoga, and the Endocannabinoid System
The endocannabinoid system is involved in regulating a variety of bodily functions including aiding fertility and pregnancy, appetite, the feeling of paid, mood, memory; as well as controlling the effects of the cannabis plant.
Believe it or not, yoga and meditation have been shown to be able to stimulate this same system in our bodies!
One of the effects of activating the endocannabinoid system in our bodies is the calming and relaxing feeling which yoga can provide, making yoga and CBD a perfect combination!
Another reason to combine yoga and CBD oil benefits is that unlike the compound THC (found more prevalently in marijuana), CBD does not cause extra anxiety. People who have never tried marijuana, or are prone to anxiety could become distracted and overly nervous from using marijuana.
CBD does not have these negative side effects, and will leave you feeling much calmer and relaxed during your yoga practice.
Another reason that CBD works incredibly well with yoga practice is because CBD is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory medicine, aiding your joints and your muscles during your practice.
Some yoga practices can be high paced and intense for your body, which is another reason being under the influence of a psychoactive such as THC.
During and after these practices, CBD is the perfect medicine to help you feeling calm and focused, while controlling muscle and joint soreness.
Combing CBD Oil or any other form of CBD with yoga is an excellent way to improve your physical and mental condition!
